Vicente de Lara Park
There is one place here in CDO where you can get the closest experience of autumn-in-a-park amidst the unpredictable weather: the Vicente de Lara Park (Capitol Park) in the Capitol Grounds.Since the beginning of 2010, major developments have been done on the park. Its pathways used to be simple dirt paths lined with short metal fences that could be quite muddy on rainy days. In March 2010, the centerpiece of the park, a giant monument of The Heritage of Misamis Oriental (by Ed Castrillo), was inaugurated. It also signified the start of the landscaping and developments in the entire park. Vicente de Lara Park has now become the Kagay-anons’ favorite place to sit, think, do people-watching, and have relaxed, casual conversations with both friends and strangers. If you haven’t been there yet, try spending an afternoon there – whether on your own or with family and friends – and you’ll see how beautiful autumn in the city can be like.

Divine Mercy Shrine
Located in the heart of the City of El Salvador, Misamis Oriental. The shrine can be accessed via jeepney that will drop you off to the highway. There you will see the gigantic statue of Jesus Christ decorated with lush greeneries and beautiful landscapes. The Shrine has its own rules to follow including dress codes and other things to observe in the chapel at all times.

Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine
Located at the depths of the forests and rivers, near the boundary of Brgy. Balubal and Tablon. This maze-filled road will allow you to enjoy the wonders of nature and meditation. The shrine made it to the top 2 list of the cdokay.com website. You will have to cross a maximum of 9 rivers before you can reach the chapel. The adventure of going there takes around 3 hours and 3 hours back to the city. This is dangerous if you cross all by yourself. Pack a company to be with you along the track.
